Miami (GCL) Draws First Blood in Round 3 With 3-1 Win
The New York N (GCL) Mets got a strong 6 innings from left-hander Phil Clark but failed to take Game 1 of the Round 3 from the Miami (GCL) Marlins. Clark held the Marlins to 1 run on 6 strong innings but Miami (GCL) took the game by a score of 3-1 and now lead the best-of-7 series, 1-0.

Miami (GCL) took a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning, when Jake Jackson hit a clutch 2-run home run to bring Marlins fans to their feet.

"Bottom line," said New York N (GCL) skipper Travis Tartamella, "we didn't play well enough to win."
