Behind a bravura effort from starter Tim Walwyn, the New York N (GCL) Mets topped the Miami (GCL) Marlins by the score of 9-6 and got their first win in the 2025 Round 3. Walwyn threw 8.2 innings allowing 3 runs for the Mets. The win moves New York N (GCL) into a 1-1 tie with Miami (GCL).

Walwyn, a native of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, was dealing all game. He kept Miami (GCL) hitters off-balance, while giving the Mets 8.2 quality innings. Walwyn threw 130 pitches, allowing 10 hits and striking out 19.

"It was a good day but I'm not letting my guard down," Walwyn said. "I'll let my guard down as soon as someone puts a big, fat championship ring on my finger."
