Almost There: New York N (GCL) On Cusp of Round 3 Triumph After 12-5 Win
At an age when many of his peers are still toiling in the minor leagues, Bobby Cox was on the biggest stage of all.

The 22-year-old rookie center fielder was terrific at Ensigns Ballpark with a stirring hitting performance. Cox was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 in a fireworks-filled, 12-5 New York N (GCL) Mets win over the Miami (GCL) Marlins. The win gives the Mets a 3-1 lead in the best-of-7 Round 3.

Ed Wright hit a 3-run home run off Bobby Brown in the bottom of the seventh, which put the Mets ahead, 7-5. In addition to the homer, Wright had 1 double, while going 2 for 5.

"We're happy," Cox told reporters after the win. "When you're in the playoffs, you've got to treat every game like it could be your last."
