Pensacola Breaks Through for First Win in Round 1; Now Trails 2-1
The Pensacola Blue Wahoos have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Jackson Generals, winning, 3-1, at The Ballpark at Jackson. Blue Wahoos right-hander Bruno Quinn threw 8.0 innings allowing 1 run. The win cuts the deficit facing the Blue Wahoos to 2-1 in the best-of-5 Round 1.

Greg Jones delivered a big hit for Pensacola. The center fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Blue Wahoos ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.

"Obviously, you want to go out there and be good every time out," said Quinn. "I take the ball every day with the same mindset."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Ballpark at Jackson in Jackson.
