Walsh SL Choice for Best Pitcher

In August, the top pitcher in the Southern League was a reliever, thanks to some sensational numbers Gunnar Walsh put up coming out of the bullpen.
The Jacksonville relief specialist made 15 relief appearances, picking up 4 saves and 30 strikeouts in 31.2 innings, and posted a 6-1 mark and a 1.14 ERA.
Walsh has nailed down 20 saves for the year. He has also totaled 119 strikeouts and 36 walks in 115.2 innings while registering a 1.95 ERA and a 11-6 won-lost record.

August's #1 Batter Announced

At only 25 years of age, Bobby White could very well have many more months like this last one during his career.
That would be great news for fans of the Jackson Generals, as August was one to remember for the right fielder and he has captured the Southern League Batter of the Month award.
On the month he hit .333 with 3 home runs, 19 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
So far this season, White is hitting .288 with 3 home runs.
