Akron designated hitter Juan Alaorbar helped his team beat the Portland Sea Dogs, 6-5. Alaorbar, who is tied for 10th in the EL in doubles with 8, went 2 for 3 for the RubberDucks. Ken Jordan got credit for the save for Akron. It was his 1st of the year. Portland is now 13-15.

Akron used a clutch at-bat from José Chavarría to capture the win. The catcher hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the RubberDucks ahead, 5-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"It feels good to get this one," Chavarría told the Akron Citizen.
