Jud Clayton was locked and loaded, helping the Altoona Curve beat the Richmond Flying Squirrels, 3-1. Now 12-16, the Flying Squirrels have not played well this season.

The Curve had to work out of trouble in the top of the ninth. The score was 3-1, Altoona, with no one out. Richmond, with runners on 1st and 2nd, was mounting a threat. Jorge Morales dug in at the plate, but on a 1-0 cutter, he hit into a double play.
