Cotes Delivers Walk-Off Win for Fightin Phils
The Reading Fightin Phils earned a close win over the Richmond Flying Squirrels, thanks in part to Dave Steward. The Reading right-hander, who is tied for 5th in the EL in quality starts with 5, played a key role in the 3-2 victory. Reading reliever Tony Martínez picked up the win to move to 2-1. Bob Gordon suffered the loss. Reading raised its record to 18-14 with the win.

In the bottom of the tenth, Oscar Cotes knew he could end it with one good swing of the bat. And he did, hitting a run-scoring single off Richmond pitcher Bob Gordon.

Steward told a Reading Herald reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
