Mets Fall Short, 4-3, at Bowie
The Bowie Baysox did just enough to sneak past the Binghamton Mets, 4-3, at Prince George's Stadium. Bowie pitcher Dan Thompson, in particular, had a standout performance. Thompson got the win, improving to 2-1. He gave up 8 hits and walked 2 over 6.2 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Geoff Stewart finished the game for Bowie and earned his 2nd save.

The Baysox got a big at-bat from catcher Veit Kirchmann. For the game, Kirchmann went 2-3 with a double, while adding 3 RBI. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave Bowie a 2-0 lead.

"Dan was electric," said Bowie manager Jack McDowell.

The setback makes Binghamton 10-24.
