The Akron RubberDucks converted a terrific effort from starter Ed Jacobs into a win over the Portland Sea Dogs at Canal Park. The RubberDucks won the game by a final score of 3-2. Ken Jordan picked up his 3rd save of the season. The loss makes Portland 19-16.

Akron took a 3-2 lead on Mike Lynch's 12th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Lynch hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Portland pitcher Sukejuro Takeuchi visibly frustrated.

"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said Portland manager Stu Cole.
