Getting a good performance from right fielder José Rodríguez, the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Cincinnati Reds, 8-3. Rodríguez was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Dodgers. The third-place Dodgers improved to 59-48.

The Reds had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Dodgers going into the top of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 28-year old center fielder Dan Noble came to the plate. Noble hit a 2-run triple on a 1-2 curveball from Cincinnati hurler Steven Matz. It was Noble's 1st triple of the year.

"It was a solid team effort," said Rodríguez after the game.
