The Portland Sea Dogs grabbed a win, 6-5, over the Akron RubberDucks at Canal Park. Portland shortstop José Puente was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs. Earning his 9th save of the year was Dave Lavington. The victory gives Portland a record of 21-16.

It could have been a different outcome for Portland, had it not been for Ken Bowling, the 24-year old catcher . Bowling contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put Portland up, 6-2.
