New Britain Stadium was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Bowie Baysox and New Britain Rock Cats.

The New Britain Rock Cats could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Ron Barr into a win. Instead, the Bowie Baysox prevailed, 4-3, in 11 innings. Barr threw 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball. The winner in relief was Ken Cooper. He is now 1-2. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2 innings.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Antony Morillo? The 27-year old third baseman Morillo stroked a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the 11th inning to put Bowie up, 4-3. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.

"Exhilarating win," said Morillo.

The triumph puts Bowie at 20-18 for the season.
