Orioles Victorious at Houston, 8-3
|
The Baltimore Orioles knocked off the Houston Astros, 8-3, in American League action at Minute Maid Park. Baltimore pitcher and Beachwood, New Jersey, native Tristan Dailey had an outstanding performance. Dailey, now 8-3, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. Alfredo Flores notched his 6th save of the season.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Carlos Correa? The Baltimore shortstop had a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Orioles on top, 3-1. For the game, Correa had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I was just taking it batter by batter, just enjoying the moment," said Dailey.
The third-place Orioles bumped their record to 62-60.
