Portland Gets 11-8 Win Against Rock Cats
The Portland Sea Dogs weathered an outstanding game by New Britain first baseman Mike Bane to topple the Rock Cats, 11-8. Bane was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Portland reliever Jesús Córdova was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Mario Molina. The win gives Portland a record of 3-2.

Álex Pérez hit a grand slam home run off Mario Molina in the bottom of the fourth, which put the Sea Dogs ahead, 5-2. In addition to the homer, Pérez had 1 double, while going 2 for 5.

"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Sea Dogs manager Stu Cole.
