Evans, Flying Squirrels March to 8-2 Victory

The home team gave the crowd at Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium something to cheer about.
The Richmond Flying Squirrels defeated the Reading Fightin Phils, 8-2, in part because of third baseman Ken Evans. Evans was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Flying Squirrels. Getting the save was Walt Hutchinson, his 1st.
Christian Capellan had a big 2-run double for the Flying Squirrels in the bottom of the second inning. With Richmond leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Bartholomeu Monserrate and swatted a double to right. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Flying Squirrels ahead, 3-0.
"Very good win for our guys," said Capellan.
Richmond is now 21-22, Reading 19-24.
