The home team was supported by a raucous crowd at New Britain Stadium.
The New Britain Rock Cats knocked off the Trenton Thunder, 5-1, in Eastern League action at New Britain Stadium. New Britain pitcher and Guantanamo, Cuba, native Adrián López had an outstanding performance. With the win over Trenton, the Rock Cats improved to 24-19.
López allowed 1 run over 8 innings. He also racked up 9 strikeouts.
"We did the things it takes to win a ballgame," said New Britain manager Gary Kendall.
