The Akron RubberDucks picked up a win at NYSEG Stadium, downing the Binghamton Mets, 6-4. On the mound for Akron was right-hander Tim Young, who played a pivotal role in the win. Álex Icaza came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. After losing, Binghamton is 1-4.

Héctor Pérez delivered a big hit for Akron. The first baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the 13th inning to put the RubberDucks ahead, 6-4. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.

Pérez described the clubhouse as "strangely calm" after the game.
