Though he had a stellar game, Luis Carlos could not prevent his team, the Akron RubberDucks, from losing, 7-5, to the Reading Fightin Phils. Carlos was 2-2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Willie Griffin nailed down his 10th save. Reading is 20-25 and Akron, with the loss, 26-18.

Chris Douglas provided a timely hit. The Reading right fielder delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the ninth inning to put the Fightin Phils on top, 7-5. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.

"We ground out the win," said Douglas. "That's all that matters."
