|
New Britain center fielder Jorge García had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. García went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, even as Harrisburg beat the Rock Cats, 5-3. Eric Tate picked up the win with 5.2 innings of work. He allowed 3 runs on 7 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 3. On the season, he is now 1-5. With the win over New Britain, the Senators improved to 16-28.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Gilberto Cardenas? The Harrisburg center fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Senators on top, 3-1. For the game, Cardenas had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We were the better team," crowed Cardenas.
