Franco, Flying Squirrels March to 8-4 Victory
The Richmond Flying Squirrels beat the Portland Sea Dogs, 8-4, at Hadlock Field. José Franco, who is tied for 5th in the EL with a .528 slugging percentage, starred for Richmond. He was 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Manny Pérez picked up the win, improving his season record to 6-4. He struck out 4 in 6 innings. A key moment came with no one out in the top of the third. That's when Franco hit a curveball from Sam Taylor for a 2-run single, putting Richmond up, 3-1.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Franco.
