SeaWolves Reel-In 9-3 Win Over RubberDucks
The Erie SeaWolves topped the Akron RubberDucks, 9-3, the lion's share of the credit going to shortstop Jim Bruce. On the day, Bruce went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 times for the SeaWolves. Enmanuel Berihuete earned save number 1. The SeaWolves bumped their record to 34-15 with this latest triumph.

Erie first baseman Joe Sheehan contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the eighth. With two down, he hit a curveball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 5th hit of the season and put the SeaWolves ahead, 4-2.

"We came in and did what we needed to do," said Erie manager Brad Ausmus.
