The Syracuse Chiefs topped the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, 4-2, in International League action at NBT Bank Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Syracuse pitcher Clarence Jackson. Getting the save was Edgardo González, his 4th. With the win, the Chiefs hiked their record to 22-15.

The Chiefs got a big at-bat from designated hitter José Macías. For the game, Macías was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Syracuse a 2-0 lead.

Said Syracuse manager Dave Anderson: "At the end of the day, these guys have to perform between the lines, and I think they did."
