The Toledo Mud Hens picked up a win at Louisville Slugger Stadium, downing the Louisville Bats, 5-4. On the mound for Toledo was right-hander Spike Kimball, who played a pivotal role in the win. Artie Brown was called on to finish, recording his 3rd save. With the win, Toledo upped its record to 29-12.
The Mud Hens benefited from a costly error in the top of the sixth. With Dax Johnson at bat and Toledo leading 2-0, the Louisville miscue allowed Toledo to plate 1 and take the lead, 3-0.
"Spike is tough to beat when he's hitting his spots," said Toledo manager Yusmeiro Petit.
