Spirited fans greeted the Durham Bulls for their clash with the Charlotte Knights.

Durham got a big-time effort from pitcher Ben Lake, but it wasn't enough to keep the Charlotte Knights from winning the game, 9-3. Lake threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. With the win, Charlotte upped its record to 23-19.

Charlotte used the timely hitting of Luis Moroles to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Knights on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Moroles.
