With Late Score, Flying Squirrels Beat Rock Cats
The Richmond Flying Squirrels picked up a win at Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium, knocking off the New Britain Rock Cats, 4-3. On the mound for Richmond was left-hander Aurelio Soriano. He played a key role in the triumph. Richmond reliever Bob Gordon picked up the win to move to 2-2. Brad Fountain suffered the loss. The 4th-place Flying Squirrels have won 4 in a row.

The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Richmond trailing 3-2, Leonardo Pagán hit a forkball from Brad Fountain to center for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Flying Squirrels had a walk-off win.

Richmond manager Mike Sarbaugh commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
