Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Syracuse Chiefs got the win.

The Syracuse Chiefs got a marvelous performance from pitcher Thom Stevens. The right-hander kept the Buffalo offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 4-2 Syracuse victory at NBT Bank Stadium. The Chiefs bumped their record to 34-30 with this latest triumph.

The Chiefs got a big boost from third baseman Ron Clark who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first inning off Bisons hurler Pancho Maldonado. It was his 21st walk of the season and put Syracuse on top, 1-0.

Clark called the win a testament to his team's "grit."
