Lehigh Valley Sends Buffalo Packing with 5-4 Loss
|
Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Lehigh Valley IronPigs and Buffalo Bisons.
The Lehigh Valley IronPigs beat the Buffalo Bisons, 5-4, at Coca-Cola Field. The win was due in part to first baseman Edwin Little, who went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Miguel Angel Martínez was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 19 of 22 save opportunities.
With the game tied in the top of the fifth inning, Little had a clutch at-bat. That's when he drew a walk, driving in 1 run to give the IronPigs a 5-4 lead.
Said Lehigh Valley manager Mel Pritchard: "At the end of the day, these guys have to perform between the lines, and I think they did."
The win hiked the Lehigh Valley record to 43-22.
