Syracuse got a terrific game from second baseman Ken Barnes. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Scranton WB, 8-5. Barnes went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. With the win, the RailRiders hiked their record to 36-31.

Wyatt Mathisen had a big 2-run home run for the RailRiders in the bottom of the third inning. With Scranton WB leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Ismael García and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 4th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the RailRiders ahead, 4-0.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Mathisen told the Scranton WB Daily.
