Storm Chasers Deal Sounds 6-4 Loss
Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Nashville Sounds home opener. Chris Clark started for the home team against Eric Hammers for the Omaha Storm Chasers. The Sounds were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 6-4, Omaha, in 11 innings. Eric Hammers, though, was impressive. The win was credited to Dave Howard in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Bennie Middehof took the loss.

Omaha used the timely hitting of Juan Ríos to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Storm Chasers on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Ríos said.
