PCL News Flash: Opening Day
Thursday, April 9th , 2026
How sweet it is! Pacific Coast League starts play today. It is a new season and a new beginning for all the boys of baseball. Opening Day is here! It is a day of great excitement for everyone in the world of baseball -- players, fans, sportswriters, broadcasters, managers, coaches, scouts, groundkeepers, batboys, ballpark vendors, agents and the owners. Everybody is eagerly awaiting the first pitch of the game and the first home run. Old records will be broken and new marks set. It all gets under way today with this lineup of games:

Allen Hanging Up Cleats In Favor of Golf Shoes

Randy Allen has decided to quit baseball and pursue a career as a professional golfer. The Rainiers second baseman, who was a standout linksman in college, barely missed out on a Pro Golf tour exemption in Q-School last year. Now that his career has stalled in the minors and Allen says he's ready for another career change. "Baseball will always be my first love, but I just don't see myself having the same amount of success as I would playing golf." Allen will attempt to qualify for the National Tour next season in the hopes of obtaining a Pro Golf tour card.

PCL News Flash: Pre-Season Begins
Tuesday, March 10th , 2026
The Pacific Coast League ended the baseball drought by announcing their 2026 schedule today. The preseason is under way and clubs across the league will be headed off to spring training and exhibition play soon, followed shortly thereafter by the start of the regular season.
Please don't forget to set your scouting budget and player development budget during the pre-season!
