Morris Leads Iowa to 1-0 Win Over New Orleans
Thursday, September 3rd , 2026
Mike Morris kept the New Orleans Zephyrs hitters from doing much damage at Principal Park.
New Orleans could only muster 4 hits and draw 1 walk against the right-handed Morris, who controlled them throughout the game. Iowa won the contest, 1-0. Morris added 8 strikeouts in his complete-game effort.
"I don't know if I was on or if they were off today," Morris told reporters after the shutout win. "But whatever it was, I hope it happens again next time."
On his stats sheet this season, Morris shows a 11-11 record, 32 starts, 193 innings, 141 strikeouts and a 3.73 ERA.

Mason Shuts Out Salt Lake, 9-0
Thursday, September 3rd , 2026
The Las Vegas 51s shut out the Salt Lake Bees, 9-0, behind the strong pitching of Ken Mason. Mason surrendered only 5 hits in recording the complete-game victory, and struck out 7.
Following the last out, Mason appeared to celebrate a little too boisterously for Salt Lake manager Tom Prince, who could be seen scolding the famously outspoken left-hander as the clubs left the field. Mason's own manager then intervened with some words for his counterpart.
The Bees skipper would not comment on the exchange but, at the 51s press conference, Mason confirmed that it was regarding the celebration.
"He basically told me I was being a lousy winner," Mason said.
"And I told him he was being a lousy loser," Las Vegas manager Nelson Paulino added.
His record for the year is 9-5 in 22 starts and Mason has a 3.88 ERA.
