The Colorado Springs Sky Sox defeated the Tacoma Rainiers, 9-7. Shortstop José Martínez deserved a large share of the credit. Martínez was 2-3 with a double and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Sky Sox. Dan McCurley recorded his 1st save for Colorado Springs. The win gives Colorado Springs a record of 1-1.
