Bees Lose By a Run at Sacramento
|
Sacramento pitcher Eddie Sherman had a large part in his team subduing the Salt Lake Bees, 3-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. Sherman, now 2-0, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 6, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. Ron Smith recorded his 4th save for Sacramento.
Shortstop Jorge Morales made an impact for Sacramento, when he swatted a 2-run double off Octávio Rangel in the bottom of the fourth. For the contest, Morales went 1 for 3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"Winning never gets dull," said Morales.
The River Cats, now 6-2, have hit the ground running this season.
