The Las Vegas 51s got a superb performance from pitcher Rudy Alexander, but the Salt Lake Bees still won the game, 5-3. Alexander threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. José Zamora snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit over 3.2 innings. He's now 1-0 on the season. The save went to José Olivas, his 2nd this season.

Salt Lake needed the clutch hitting of Jonathan Amundaray to seal the deal. The right fielder swatted a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Bees on top, 4-3. For the game, Amundaray had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Our team showed some spunk," said Amundaray.

The loss drops Las Vegas to 5-5.
