Smith's Ballpark was the site of a remarkable pitchers' duel.

The Sacramento River Cats topped the Salt Lake Bees, 2-0, in Pacific Conference action at Smith's Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to Sacramento pitcher and Highlands Ranch, Colorado, native Eddie Sherman. The River Cats, now 9-4, have been playing some good baseball.

Sherman allowed no runs on 6 hits over 8 innings for the River Cats. He walked 2 and struck out 7.

"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Tom Prince.
