|
Behind an impressive start by Bob Bennett, Albuquerque beat Omaha, 3-0. Bennett picked up the win for Albuquerque, going 6.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 2 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. With the loss, Omaha drops to 7-6.
Marc Davis had a big run-scoring double for the Isotopes in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Albuquerque leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from 32-year old right-handed pitcher Ramon A. Martinez and swatted a double to left. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Isotopes ahead, 2-0.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Albuquerque manager Matt Merullo said.
