Sounds Continue Skid, Thanks to Martínez, Dodgers
|
The Oklahoma City Dodgers topped the Nashville Sounds, 9-6, with second baseman Rodrigo Martínez playing a big role. Martínez went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 5 runs and scored once for the Dodgers in the win. Sam Scott was called on to finish, recording his 3rd save. The Sounds fall to 6-12 and continue to sputter in the early going.
Martínez contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Oklahoma City in the top of the third. With his team trailing 2-1, Martínez took a sinker from Arturo Flores and stroked the home run to left. His 1st home run of the season allowed the Dodgers to leap in front, 4-2.
"This game will humble you at times and you've got to buck up and deal with it," said Nashville manager Steve Scarsone.
