Erie and Richmond duked it out and the SeaWolves came out victorious.
Erie turned a fine outing from starter Jon Dwight into a victory over the Richmond Flying Squirrels at Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium. The final score was 4-1. In 7.1 innings, Dwight surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. Getting the save was Chuck Parsons, his 2nd.
Erie shortstop Mike Walker made an impact. He drilled a single in the top of the first. In the contest, Walker went 2 for 5 with 2 singles.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said SeaWolves manager Brad Ausmus, "I like our chances."
The loss drops Richmond to 4-2.
