The Reno Aces took Brian Gonzalez's best shot and still were able to collect a win at Cheney Stadium. The final score had Reno getting past the Rainiers, 5-4, in 13 innings. Gonzalez over 9 innings allowed 4 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 9. Reno reliever Don Forrest picked up the win to move to 1-0. Freddy Peralta suffered the loss. José Morales closed it out for Reno, earning his 1st save.

Jean Carlo Rodriguez was 1-2 with a hit by pitch. He drove in 3 runs for Reno. The 28-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the 13th. With no one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Freddy Peralta. It was his 3rd RBI of the season.

"A great team win and something real positive we can build on," said Rodriguez after the game.

With the win, Reno boosts its record to 7-12.
