Starting pitcher Walker Lockett pitched well enough to help the El Paso Chihuahuas beat the Reno Aces, 7-3. Michel Deodato got the save, the 3rd for him this season. No one expected much of this team, but the hot start by El Paso might have some re-evaluating their pre-season predictions. This latest win lifts their record to 16-4.

El Paso used the hitting of Whit Cameron to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Chihuahuas on top, 2-0. For the game, Cameron had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Walker showed what he's made of," said El Paso manager Andy Hayes.
