The Memphis Redbirds knocked off the Nashville Sounds, 9-4, in American Conference action at AutoZone Park. Memphis pitcher and Chula Vista, California, native Walt Henley had an outstanding performance. Memphis has a record of 10-12.

Wilbert Casey hit a 2-run double off Joe Warren in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Redbirds in front, 5-4. In addition to the double, Casey had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 3.
