5 Straight Wins for Sounds
|
The Nashville Sounds used the hitting of right fielder Jonathan Amundaray to subdue the Memphis Redbirds, 7-2. For the game, Amundaray went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Mitch Brown picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 2-1. Memphis, at 3-21, has had a dismal start to the season.
Amundaray had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a full count fastball from Cesar Villarroel, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Sounds a 4-2 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Amundaray.
"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Sounds manager Steve Scarsone.
