Reno first baseman Joe Reynolds had a good game, even if his team did not. The Aces dropped a 5-4 decision to Las Vegas at Cashman Field. Reynolds was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Las Vegas pitcher Mitch Smith got the win, upping his record to 2-1. Sergio Bernard got the loss. Reno, now 5-20, continues its dreadful start.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Las Vegas designated hitter Manny García, facing Sergio Bernard, had a run-scoring hit-by-pitch. It gave the 51s the 5-4 win.
"There's no quit in this team," said 51s manager Nelson Paulino.
