On Road, Sacramento Drops Tacoma, 3-1
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Sacramento River Cats and the Tacoma Rainiers, pitcher Esteban Correa was the difference between victory and defeat. The Sacramento right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-1 River Cats win. Correa picked up the win for Sacramento, going 7.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 3-1. Ron Smith recorded his 12th save for Sacramento.
Juan Aragón had a direct impact on the outcome. Aragón contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the first inning to put Sacramento up, 2-0.
"We're obviously playing with a lot of confidence," said Sacramento manager Carmelo Martinez.
The River Cats, now 22-5, have been playing some good baseball.
