The Sacramento River Cats beat the Tacoma Rainiers, 11-4, at Cheney Stadium. Edgardo Quiñones starred for Sacramento. He went 3-5 with a triple, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Jim Olsen got the win, improving to 3-0. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 9 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 2 and walking 2. Tacoma has now lost 4 straight.
In the top of the seventh, Quiñones put his team in front with his 1st triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which came against Brian Gonzalez, made it 3-2, Sacramento.
