Round Rock and Memphis duked it out and the Express came out victorious.

The Round Rock Express defeated the Memphis Redbirds, 6-5, in part because of designated hitter Ben Moore. Moore went 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Express. Orlando Otero, the winning pitcher, improved to 5-2. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 8 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 7 and walking 1. Jesus Arroyo collected save number 4.

The Express got a big at-bat from second baseman Hemerson Serven. For the game, Serven went 2-5 with a double. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 6th double of the season gave Round Rock a 3-2 lead.

Said Round Rock manager Ben Petrick: "At the end of the day, these guys have to perform between the lines, and I think they did."

After today's action, Round Rock sits at 15-15; Memphis slips to 13-17.
