The timely hitting of Ken Lawson helped the Las Vegas 51s down the Reno Aces, 9-5. Lawson slugged 2 home runs for the 51s. Rudy Alexander, the winning pitcher, is now 3-0. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 5 runs on 9 hits, while fanning 6 and walking 2. With the win, the 51s hiked their record to 20-10.
In the top of the second, Bob Crouch delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and a runner on 3rd, the Las Vegas first baseman hit a run-scoring single, putting the 51s in front, 9-5.
