In a low-scoring contest, Fresno pitcher Jon Steele was marvelous, enabling his team to nab a 2-1 win. The win boosted Fresno to 15-15.

Bob Enders went 2-3 with 2 singles for Fresno. The 25-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With no one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Joe Jackson. It was his 14th RBI of the season.

Enders said his wife shared good advice with him before the game. "She said, 'Don't allow this game to make you mad.' When I thought about it, I realized this is just a game. I was able to relax at the plate."
