New Orleans center fielder Ron Park had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Park was 3-4 with 3 singles, even as Tacoma beat the Zephyrs, 5-4. Robbie Jones was called on to finish, recording his 4th save. The win puts Tacoma at 14-21.

The Rainiers got a big at-bat from left fielder Greg Jones. For the game, Jones went 1-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 6th double of the season gave Tacoma a 5-4 lead.

"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said New Orleans manager Jody Reed.
