Aces Get Past Oklahoma City for 3-2 Win
|
Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Reno Aces and Oklahoma City Dodgers.
The Reno Aces took Oklahoma City pitcher Wally Carter's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The final score had Reno getting past the Dodgers, 3-2. Carter went 7 innings and allowed no runs, striking out 4. Pat Abrams got credit for the win, improving to 1-5. He allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 7.2 innings.
Phil Leighton, who is tied for 2nd in the PC in total bases with 60, had a direct impact on the outcome. Leighton contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Reno up, 3-2.
"Tough loss," said Oklahoma City manager Mitch Moreland. "But we'll learn from it."
The triumph makes Reno 8-28.
