The Albuquerque Isotopes rode a solid performance from 27-year-old starting pitcher Gene Blevins to a win, beating the Tacoma Rainiers, 5-2, at Cheney Stadium. Milo Sykes earned the save for Albuquerque. With this game in the books, Albuquerque is 14-25, Tacoma 15-24.

Albuquerque used a clutch at-bat from Sancho Acosta to capture the win. The catcher hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Isotopes ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"Gene is a gamer," said Albuquerque manager Matt Merullo.
